
Somali Community In Uganda Under Goes Course In Digital Journalism
Over 30 Somalis’ have concluded a two weeks training of trainers’ course in Digital journalism most especially in the New media.
The workshop that was conducted by Sheikh Maxamed Sheikh Abdiwali at the Twahid Institute at the Tawhid mosque in Kampala, Uganda was aiming at not letting the Somali community more especially the Somali refugees out side the digital world more especially when the world is in the digital age.
The course also focused on public speaking with an aim of equipping the trainees on easing and improving their skills in communication and how to organize themselves in speaking before a given audience an area that many Somalis are lacking when it comes to the ability to express themselves.


The Somali’s under the “Somali’s New generation forum” under Sheikh Abdiwali and Abdishakour Abdikareem are organizing a series of training with the MM TV and Sncf that attracts Somali’s to solve the problem of ignorance and promoting adequate education to the community. The course that was open and free was aiming at mobilizing Somali’s towards the course and amongst the selected few include Abdirisaq Ali Bashi the Executive director of the UNI HUB academy that a website designed to easy education globally, “this training is crucial and has come at time when I dearly need it to build my website and I call upon all Somali community to embrace digital journalism and public speaking as a core in there day today activities” said Abdirisaq.

The Somali’s New generation forum come at a time where the Somali Community in Uganda is in dare need of a uniting factor forum like this that can work together with policy makers to address pertinent issues and challenges affecting the Somali community in Uganda.
